Healing Through Touch In Ketamine Therapy

Alan and Suz explore massage therapy and psychedelics

Dear Co-learning Community,

I’m filled with gratitude as I share some exciting news: I was recently invited by Alan W. Wiederhold to join him on his podcast, Neuma: The Crossroad of Science & Enlightenment. Alan’s thoughtful questions and deep curiosity created such a nourishing space for a conversation that feels close to my heart.

Together, we explored the intricate connection between massage therapy and psychedelics, diving into the nuances of post-psychedelic integration massage and ketamine-assisted therapeutic massage. This conversation gave us space to reflect on themes like the cultural significance of touch, harm reduction, and the collaborative care that is so essential in therapeutic settings involving psychedelics.

Here are a few key takeaways from our dialogue:

  • Massage therapy can offer profound support in post-psychedelic integration.
  • Understanding how the body responds to psychedelics is key for both therapists and clients.
  • Touch deprivation has widespread health implications, reminding us how deeply we need connection.
  • Informed consent and ethical practices are non-negotiable in this emerging field.
  • Attunement and relational touch help co-create safer spaces for healing.
  • Psychedelics can serve as bridges, reconnecting individuals with their embodied experiences.

I’m so grateful for Alan’s invitation and his dedication to opening up conversations at the crossroads of science, spirituality, and care. If these themes resonate with you, I’d love for you to tune in and hear our full discussion.
