Here's how to connect with Unwind

As Unwind is looking for a new, bigger, and more flexible space, we are also updating our addresses in the digital realms.

The search for more ways to Unwind

The vision for 2026 is to have space for collaborative care practitioners including ketamine providers as well as classroom space for Unwind Learning. In addition, we have formed Liminal Topographies, LLC, a publishing company focused on expanded states, attuned touch, leading edge practice, and ethics.

The months long search has been daunting.

We have been looking for:

  • Under 1000 sq ft
  • En suite all genders bathroom
  • Parking ease
  • Accessibility
  • Garden like setting
  • Near you!
  • Midterm lease with defined increases
  • 12+ person classroom space
  • 2 - 3 sound isolated treatment rooms
  • Space for our publishing company to operate

It's a tall order!

Zoning and business license requirements vary dramatically by city, though they are all discouraging of massage therapy and bodywork businesses, which are considered special activities like automotive repair, cannabis, or gambling. This limits the places Unwind can operate.

Owners and brokers would prefer to keep complex businesses requiring special activities business licenses in larger square footage, long term leases that are financially out of reach for Unwind at this time. Most owners and brokers will not lease to massage therapy or ketamine adjacent businesses at all. The tax write off of an empty space and optimism about the economic outlook is also keeping asking prices unattainably high.

We have identified a location for sale that fits our requirements. However, we only qualify for 50% of the asking and build out costs through an SBA 7a loan process.

What does this mean for 2026?

It took a year to find our current office, and it has always been far from ideal on many levels. While this tiny office has been an important stepping stone coming back from having to shut down entirely during the pandemic (massage therapists are not regulated as a healthcare or allied health providers in California), 17 Gleneden is not a sustainable home for Unwind in 2026 or beyond.

We know change is coming.

We remain open to the mystery!

The Guest House

By Rumi

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

We look forward to finding ways to meet your needs as Unwind shifts, expands, contracts, and changes.

Thank you for you,

Suz

Support the Shulgin Farm

As psychedelic-assisted therapy enters mainstream medicine, the nonprofit Shulgin Foundation works to ensure this field grows with the rigorous science and ethical care that defined Sasha and Ann Shulgin's pioneering work. Their year-end campaign supports securing the historic Shulgin Farm in Lafayette, CA as a permanent center for training practitioners, preserving essential research archives, and building networks that connect the field's foundational values with its future.

Consider making a year-end tax-deductible donation to help guide psychedelic medicine toward its potential as truly transformative, respectful healing.

End-of-year Fundraising Campaign

Please consider donating to the Women's Visionary Council.

Every contribution preserves the wisdom of elders, cultivate resilience, and foster inclusivity in psychedelic communities. If you believe in this work, please consider making a donation today.

YOU ARE INVITED! Howard Rheingold Visits the Chalice OCTOBER 1, 2025 - 7PM I first met Howard when I worked at a smallish Internet company that wasn't going to be evil (I'm sure that's going fine). I was teaching Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (tuned for engineers). I was also facilitating Design Thinking for flagship client engagements, among other very fancy and glamourous projects. One of the employees who started the same day as me was meeting a professor, and it was suggested I join....
